Caring Ministries

Sharing Christ's Love With All

We strive to share the Spirit of Christ, our special gifts and resources by showing love, respect and compassion while we actively meet the needs of others in our Church community and the world.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is the recruiting, training, commissioning and supervising of congregation members to provide one-to-one Christian care to persons in need on behalf of the congregation. Stephen Ministers typically are assigned one care receiver at a time and meet with that person for about one hour each week.

The needs of care receivers may include divorce, loss of a loved one, hospitalization, terminal illness, loneliness, relocation, unemployment, retirement, empty nest, and other life transitions.

Agape Witness

Agape Witness also provides one-to-one Christian care to persons in need, but they normally provide care on a short-term basis – perhaps a one time visit to a person in the hospital following surgery or recovering from an illness. At times, as Agape Witness may visit a person in a nursing home or a shut-in to simply provide Christian love to a person who is lonely and needs a brother or sister to talk with during a time of loneliness.

Shut-In Ministry

At times congregation members may become immobile – unable to leave their residence. Shut-in ministers visit these members providing Christian love, comfort and company.

Flower Ministry

Following Sunday worship services, the altar flowers are normally re-vased into approximately 10 to 12 smaller, individual arrangements. These arrangements are then delivered to people in hospitals, shut-ins, nursing homes or just those who need a little extra tender loving care to brighten their day

Society of St. Stephen

Society of St. Stephen is a local volunteer organization that brings together several churches in our community. Each day they take calls from people with short-term financial needs – utility bills, medical bills, rent, etc. – for which they are not able to pay. The Society will evaluate the need, considering available resources which come from the various member churches, and attempt to help those in need. The Society also provides for some physical needs such as furniture.

Kairos and Epiphany Prison Ministries

Kairos Prison Ministry International addresses the spiritual needs of incarcerated men, women and children, to their families and to those who work in the prison environment. Kairos Prison Ministry brings Christ's love and forgiveness to all incarcerated individuals, their families and those who work with them, and to assist in the transition of becoming a productive citizen.

Epiphany Ministry vision is to spread the message of God's love, grace and forgivness to every incarcerated juvenile in the world. The mimistry typically uses a 3 day program of talks, skits, recreation, music food and fellowship with “table families” of teams of men, women and teenagers in youth prison facilities.
